Case Study
The Christopher Jenner project was a 12 month collaboration creating a set of limited edition chairs. Jenner sketched an infinite loop to become the chair frame made of English oak. Felicity then wove the structured seat out of Rush using a fine pairing weave technique taking seven weeks, over 200 hours, to weave each one. The result is a silhouette reminiscent of a reclining figure.

Jenner wanted to challenge our most traditional of crafts with cutting-edge technology. ‘Using technology allowed us to create a freeform structure into which Felicity could weave. This approach repositions the craft in a contemporary perspective and allows it to embrace the future. As one of the few artisans left working in the technique I wanted to see how we could unite Irons’ talent with our ideas.’ Jenner
